The feed bill was killing me. Soon as I find out which ones I’m keeping on the new breeds I’m going to be lower yet. Till spring when eggs kick in.

I guess I never really got a lot of birds cuz I sell my chicks faster than I can hatch them.
But I only hatch a few batches a year. In a Brinsea octagon..... And I have the one breed no one else around here does.
And I've only sold to a few people..... So there's still not a lot of people with Ayams around here.
Same with my ducks.... There are a lot of people here with homes on lakes.
So my ducklings go quick too.....I only hatch a few hatches a year of those too.
I do want to pick up a couple more Cayoga hens......I might do some mutt ducklings .
Would be interesting to see....

Starting to think about what all needs to be done before winter.

I usually use 0 and my cut off.
But if it's a still day and the sun is out I will let them out in colder. Just depends on the day.
But in the dead of winter when the temps dip into the way negatives they want out but I am the keeper of the cheese ..... And I say NO

Probably a smart idea.

Definite conspiracy. The whole thing was staged as a film. The actor they used was picky, though, so they had to film on-location.
