EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

You still on the road? My son used to be an otr driver, but now he pretty much runs Racine to Chicago every night, with a run to IN sometimes. I couldn't do it...not to Chicago...no way in the world. If I ever drove truck I'd want to be otr, but that's no life for a family man.
I’m at home the rest of this week. Did West Jefferson, NC to San Antonio, Tx. Last week, have Charleston, SC to San Antonio set up for next week( as soon as the hurricane clears out) All my kids, and now some of the grandkids, have been with me on summer trips. My only rule is: NO Diapers!!! ( gets them potty trained quick) My wife has been threatening for years to start driving a “pilot car” so she could get paid to follow me around. Hope she follows through with those threats soon.

Sounds like your career behind the wheel has been anything but boring. That's great! After Schneider taught my son to drive, one of his first solo trips was to the left coast, in the Winter. He emailed us pictures he'd taken out his side window of the blizzard going on outside as he was parked (by the cops) on Donner Pass until he could make a passable set of chains out of the 4 busted sets he'd been allowed to leave the terminal with. Sound familiar? He said when he got to the bottom, people were mowing their lawns!

Fun! I’ve never had to mess with snow chains, but... I think it is Montana that has a law that if I enter the state I have to have snow chains on the truck, but if I put them on, its illegal to to drive anywhere (oversized loads are illegal to move In “inclement weather”):th

Well, now, that makes a lot of sense! :barnie You're expected to have them hanging there just to look impressive?

Son lost his rig on black ice one time several years ago, while he was running for Tax air freight. Trailer jacked on him & took out the rear corner of his tractor, right behind him. Tractor was totaled, but he walked away from it w/o a scratch.

Short story. I’m allergic, it was hiding, I have hives. :hit

Scary stuff. Really glad he was ok. No fun to feel the road leave you.
