EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Is anyone on here still incubating? I have 2 more batches of eggs due in the next couple weeks. I probably won't set again till late December or January.
I need to get busy building another building.
I have a broody duck with six eggs. She’s almost halfway through.
Glad to see you back in this thread! Sally will be very pleased!

He’s pretty good! I have the fence up from the turkey pen. It’s about 24’x28’. I let him run loose in there today. I got a few pictures I really like without a leash or line. Especially this one!

He is good at escaping rooms. He ain’t never caught a rabbit, but getting over, under and around barriers wasn’t his issue! He stole food off the counter with me right there. :D
He’s having fun hiding his toys everywhere. I just gave him a few more.

He has no real interest in the birds. Any dog has to be watched though.

I am so happy to have discovered an online hunting supply store located nearby. The nearby was coincidence. I wanted a nameplate instead of a tag, and I needed another long line (old big dog supplies are likely in the garage) for exercising him. For a while anyway.

 Maaco was in the exercise pen, and decided he was done. Before I could leash him, he snuck out the door. No big worries, I felt he would stay near. :fl He did come when called (but it was a stretch to get ahold of him!), and we began walking. A few steps later, he saw the bantam rooster break from the flock. AJ was just walking, but Maaco was out for game! I walked him away, and all was fine until he caught the scent! Suddenly, here comes AJ, walking right at us! Maaco wants a rooster, AJ wants me. I’m dying laughing at how stupid this rooster is! :lau

House breaking still in progress. I’m quite sure I stopped him from going last night and this morning. He really shouldn’t take long though. For an outdoor dog, he seems pretty good about it all. I don’t wait until I know he wants to go to the bathroom in the house, I just tell him we’re going, and he comes.

Your silence had me thinking I was (understandably) on ignore.
I do need you. Very badly.
I only have one person on ignore, & you're obviously not the one. Nothing was happening here for a good while last night, so I closed the lid & watched The Voice, then went to bed. I'm not sure when you posted, but I saw it about half an hour or so ago. Tried to reply, but been fighting 502 & 525 error codes all morning.

I had a stray beagle attack a flock of chickens when he somehow squeezed into the run. He didn't kill any but terrorized the whole flock and pulled out a lot of feathers. When I discovered it, he was standing on top of the rooster barking. The rooster was covering two hens that were cowering in a crevice between a raised bed and the coop. There were 11 hens in that flock that had been laying regularly. I got one egg and a shell-less blob that day and not another egg for 2 months. None of the birds would even come out of the coop for 3 days.
Paddler!!! I pray yall are well!

I assume chicken building? lol not incubating, next birds will be fancy pheasants I think. I do miss my chickens, but goose sure does a good job being a loner.
