Sorry, the coop and shed windows. House has double pane windows. We planned and built it ourselves, after living in enough dumps to know what we wanted, and we put our money into insulation and efficient heating. Not even -40 chills the indoor air.

Sure does. I have to replace it every year or every other. It's on my 'someday' list.. It'd be a nice upgrade, for sure. Maybe after we have the loft finished.That's "more better"
I was just thinking about the plastic. Doesn't the UV destroy it in a year or two, if the wind doesn't shred it to pieces first? What if you had framed lucite/plexiglas "windows that would swing up out of the way in warm weather, and fit over/in the existing windows in cold weather? Shouldn't be difficult to make.
My guess is you have enough scrap left from the coop build to do most of them, if you didn't toss it.
Don't have any plexiglass, well, any that hasn't sat outside so long that it'd shatter if mounted. I used only hardware cloth for the windows.
I'm thinking more in terms of wood framing. I'm pretty sure I bought my plexiglas from Lowe's. I'm sure you have them or an equivalent. It isn't very expensive.

Oh! Yes, I have enough wood to build another coop. Getting plexiglass is more of a matter of finding room in the car, since I'm NOT doing a run into town for just one store.
If you're by yourself you could most likely slip the plexiglass down between the passenger's door & the seat, or between the console (if you have one) & the passenger's seat, or behind the seats on the floor; all sorts of options.
I'm usually hauling the kids around, and the aisles are already jammed full of either groceries or gear for whatever thing they're going to. Or chicken feed.
