I am just sorry to be of no help. I just hope I never see that on a bird.

Snowshoes it is. I almost got Nubians, but I was told they were rubbish in cold, so I scratched that idea. Hi, whites! No, you can't get one like her...unless you fit her with snowshoes and/or skiis.
Hi, bubbles!Snowshoes it is. I almost got Nubians, but I was told they were rubbish in cold, so I scratched that idea. Hi, whites!
Just not as hardy is what I was told. I'm aware of that, but that doesn't help much when the temperatures haven't scratched zero in two weeks. I'm not exaggerating, either!Hi, bubbles!
Why rubbish? Frostbitten ears?
I had Nubians. We obviously don't get the temps you do, I never had any problems. Ever wonder why animals' ears are so prone to bleeding from scratches, and so hard to stop? 'Cause the blood vessels & veins are so close to the surface, and so numerous. They keep blood flowing through the ears to warm them. As long as they ears don't get wet for long in extreme cold, I wouldn't think they'd be easily frostbitten.
Your thermometers must be frozen; that's insane!!Just not as hardy is what I was told. I'm aware of that, but that doesn't help much when the temperatures haven't scratched zero in two weeks. I'm not exaggerating, either!
I'm sure they'd be just fine in your weather.
Don't worry, that was last winter. It's warmer right now. Only goes down to zero during nights.Your thermometers must be frozen; that's insane!!
