the early ones are AI breeding I started early with the AI hoping to get a few of them cuz I figured it may take a cycle or two next year I'm not doing more than two. I tried three times with a couple of those this year in that ended up putting them really late so I'll be kidding all the way into April and one won't kid till May because she absorbed.

Almost time for them to breed spring pups so it’ll get crazy. Crazy as we’ll lose a chicken here and there to a coyote but usually do pretty good on the livestock. I guess that’s the reason I carry a suppressed AR everywhere in the truck.

have fun doing chores have a great day. That's what my llamas are for they keep those coyotes away from my goats, and by extension the chicken since they're in the same area. Also, I'm not quite as rural as you.

Yep we have guardians too but we actually lost them from getting out of their pasture. We found the hole under the fence after the fact. Ugh. That 5-6 acre goat pasture is fenced in that heavy 6’ woven wire (Red Brand I think) with 2 strands of electric. It was when we first started to feed hay and of course, they’re goats and nothing is good enough. They were small enough that they could get under the bottom hot wire and push the bottom of the fence enough to squeeze under. Fixed now and hasn’t been a problem.

Yep, not my favorite time of year. We feed tons of hay and my COOP feed bill is through the roof. Have a load of hog feed coming in today.

I understand with the cold, then heat and drought we had here the hay is poor.
And yes, goats will find a way to get themselves in trouble.
I am about to cut my feed bill a bit with the chicken since I have nine hens in a rooster leaving this weekend. Bye bye
