EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

We're getting our second winter storm this week. It's supposed to go from a high of 65 tomorrow to a low of 15 forty-eight hours later. We've still got places without power from the storm that came through last week! I love fall in Montana--all 3 days of it. And I'm glad I didn't incubate one last time after all! I'm not as resistant to winter as I was as a kid. :old

Yuck! Please keep that cold and snow out there! I'm not ready here :hit

Y'all, I just liberated a hen.
I've been having problems with my neighbors. I was excited since they brought in goats and a sheep, but the problems started with the goats. They left the gate open at all times and waited months to fix the back fence, so we lost all of our pepper plants and all of the lower limbs on my beloved loquat trees. We asked them several times to keep their goats in because of the sheer amount of damage they were doing, but they only fixed the problem recently.

Said neighbors have chickens. I've watched these people chase and beat the chickens with sticks. I've seen them beat puppies nearly to death. The police have been firmly on the neighbors' side because I have no proof.

Today was the last straw. I've threatened to take their animals before if I found them in my yard. Today their teenage daughter was chasing the chickens in MY yard and hitting them with a stick. I told her not to hit animals on my property, even if they belong to her family. I guess she didn't scare this one back over because I found her sleeping in a bush on my property.

I'll probably end up letting her go in the morning, but I really don't want to. My neighbors can't figure out why they aren't getting eggs from them. They're laying in an old dog house on my property. That's why. Most of the flock aren't laying because of the stress as far as I can tell.

I'm just frustrated that I can't get justice for these animals. They don't deserve this crap.
