I moved my new hatchlings into my new brooder last nigh and then adjusted the wafer cuz they were acting cold, then adjusted it more cuz they were still acting cold. Only to find out a couple hours later that I overheated and killed most of them...... lesson learned
DO NOT ADJUST A WAFER THERMOSTAT WITH BABIES IN THE BROODER!
Lost all my bcm and both my DD's black Nn and a couple of her black turkeys.
Next week will be better right?

A thermometer or so can sometimes come in handy. Last year I kept bothering mlm Mike because I had a screaming baby. The others were crying too, but one was insane. It turned out they were tired, and adjusting to the new digs. Come to think of it, I had other annoying birds last year. They were actually weak though. They wanted heat until six weeks in the house.

I hope everyone had a good weekend I've been buried under kiddings. after the sad start of a loss of one of my AI breeding triplets I got another set of triplets a single and a double from AI breedings, and then I've got one triplet from my own breeding buck

My cabinet incubator is getting close to finished. I only have to complete the wiring and add internal shelving. Chick fever is hitting me hard this year.
