EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I am so happy to see you, @daxigait !! I meant to send you a PM. I’ve been worried about you!
Yes, pancakes are broodies. All three are trying to drive me insane. If I didn’t hate separating broodies into another coop, I would have done it when the second one sat. Goodness knows I would have with a third. Next time they aren’t getting eggs until they are content in the dog crate/a floor nest.

I have a couple myself, but I don't know if they're going to be successful. Unfortunately because I really need them to be successful my chickens are getting old. I lost all the chicks to the drowning rain last year.

I don't think so, but I'll ask Blu when he gets up.
It seems to be working (communicating) better now. It is amazingly accurate. Almost better than anything else I have. An article about it on ZNet says it can send the signal up to 240' without boosting.
The same article said something about putting several around the house so apparently you can use multiples at once. I'm considering several for each incubator and each brooder. At $15 per pop, it would be better and cheaper than the remote one I got from Cigars International.

My life remains the same. Do chotes go to work 11 or 12 hours a day go home and do chores, throw in the occasional ride and repeat.
oh and plan my next hike I am headed for Glacier in August.

Blu says that's the way to go since there's no way to improve a phone's ability to pick up a Bluetooth signal.

Fingers crossed the fires aren't bad this year! August is a crapshoot as far as visibility goes up there. We tried to go in August a couple of years ago after going to my cousin's wedding in Whitefish but the smoke was too bad.

I'm lucky--I'm about midway between Glacier and Yellowstone so I've been to both multiple times.

It is a wonderful thing to be gainfully employed. Many people can't say that today.
Yes it is but it’s also a scary thing. I meet many different people daily. No shaking hands and masks can only do so much. So far so good, but nerves are fried. Some pay attention to the new rules some not so much. Being out in it the first few weeks was definitely different. Felt guilty but at the same time reluctant to be working. Traffic has definitely picked up even before things were “re opened” it’s a strange feeling when you could walk across a freeway blindfolded any time of the day.

@Akrnaf2 Shalom
since they're spreading like a bad weed what do you do with Jerusalem artichokes? I know you're a good cook.
Shalom Dax
You can use them as a potatoes replacement!
Soup
Puree
Backed
In a stew
Base for cold salad
You can pickle it
Ect.
but you take in consideration that it is one of the most mmm......mmmmmmm " gas manufacturing " vegetables around :lau (nothing that 2 boils with water change in between will not solve)
