:barnie I have a coyote, a raccoon, AND an opossum problem. All at once. It's driving me crazy. The raccoon tried to eat poor Fritz (Junebug's pet turtle) the other night and it keeps stealing all of Gimpy Chicken's eggs. I baited a trap with eggs and marshmallows, but I'm going to need to change tactics to catch it.

The opossums are eating through my feed container and eating all of my feed. I just bought a new bag of chick starter a few days ago and it's gone. The only thing it hasn't gotten into is my horse's feed.

The coyotes are killing my cats. I've had 7 go missing this year. 4 of those have disappeared in the last 2 weeks. I've found yote tracks super close to the house. I've tried waiting for them but I'm not the night owl I used to be. When this is all said and done I'm going to have some lovely furs. :mad:

None of them are going after Gimpy or the hen that recently brought her entire brood with her. Not are they going after the chicks. Stress, I has it.

Try cat food for bait. Both possum and raccoons love it. That whole critter situation is very stressful.

Very stressful. Especially the coyote. Cat food is absolutely the next thing I'm trying. I forgot to bait it again and I'm not going outside again tonight. I'm probably going to have to resort to using traps for the coyote since I can't stay awake all night and shoot it.

I had to build a higher fence around the yard. Coyotes were coming so close our dogs were being in danger. The chickens now stay in coops.
