Yes. Deer are what are called browsers, not grazers.Spring time everything is green now it’s drying up. Gardens are like smorgasbords to them at this time. I’ve found deer are munchers. Don’t kill the plants but will come back several times to the same plant. Wild plants in the spring that they won’t touch are eaten towards the end of the season when plants they prefer are more scarce.
You have a tough climate. We are blessed - and in the current environment - cursed with a rain bounty. We just had a dry week but we stormed all night and morning. This was the first dry week since December. I've never had such a period without a dry spell in my long life.
