ee cant tell sex

He was born this spring beginning of April. So he is 3 1/2 months old. I do have another roo that is more bossy but is free ranged and not sure if I could ever catch this one again and if they will beat up on him too much since they are a year older? So the boys on the ee's don't have the red hanging skin like the chickens I never seen any on this ee roo so I assumed it was a girl. His mom is a ee and dad more then likely a buff orp. I have him in that smaller cage because that is the option at the moment its long but not that tall. I kicked the roos out to free range to put this bird in with the girls since I thought it was a girl and the girls are a year old and they were attacking it like crazy so I took it back out and put it back in the small cage.

Have 3 EE's that same age...their combs/faces are very pale pink still and they are much smaller.

You have a very pretty rooster.

The amount of development that guy has at only 3 1/2 months shouts ROO to me... I'm not entirely sure what you mean about the red thing that the chickens have.

Is he the only one that is that young? Sometimes it's hard for one that young to be introduced into a flock of older chickens and they will get picked on but eventually it will "usually" work itself out.

Thank you everyone for the compliments and help. I am talking about the extra red skin that hangs down under the roosters mouth it is more noticeable on my roos then the hens and even more noticeable on the male tom turkey I have. Yes he is the only one that young and I kicked the roos out of the cage cause I thought they were the only ones beating up the girls and come to find out when i put him in with the girls at this time thinking he was a girl it has been a while ago he has gotten bigger and meaner....the girls were beating him up and he was cowered in the corners and would not move as they kept attacking him. Been thinking about getting rid of him. I'v always thought he was really pretty too maybe I will let him go loose with the other roos what do you think?

And you are right, EE's have less of them.
