EE Chickens 24 weeks Old no eggs.

Ours came from Mt Healthy. Out of 6, I had two lay a blue eggs, one a greenish blue, one pinkish brown, and one very dark brown.

Don't worry, unless you have artificial lighting in your coop you may not get any eggs til Spring. For some unknown reason one of my 6 mo. old EE's laid 8-10 eggs back in Dec. and stopped. I never have had a pullet start laying at this time of year. I don't use any supplementary lighting but may try it next year. My EE's are not the so called "mutt" type but are chickens that I have had for many years and have been bred to produce only various shades of blue eggs.

I got our first egg today from one of my EE's at 24 weeks old. I can't believe one of them started laying in winter. We put a light up in the coop today to come on in the morning just before dawn and turn on at dusk for a bit to see if we can get the others laying and keep production up. The egg was very small. I wonder if they will get larger.
