I really don't want to have to build seven separate small pens for them. We will if we have to. In order to keep peace. Cause all but one will go in the freezer anyway , I don't need that many rooster's. So I will pick the most handsome of the seven and keep him.Wow that's really bad, just be careful when you trim their beaks not to cut too much. I was given a bunch of hens a few years ago, they were evil ( well just really REALLY aggressive) and killed 2 of the lower flock members in 1 day. It was absolutely a horrible sight, I trimmed all the instigators beaks and that helped for a while. I did cut a couple too short and they bled a bit. The beak will always grow back though unless you cauterize it.
My neighbor has done the beak trimming before , he said he would help us and show us how to do it correctly. He has been so wonderful with me being new at this and all. I just hate to run to him all the time with all the questions that I have. Don't want to be the bothersome neighbor. So I try to learn a lot on my own.
I will be careful not to cut to much off the beaks. Thanks for the advise.
