Rows on a comb means nothing, that is an old wives' tale and you shouldn't believe it. However, how quickly the comb grows and reddens is what you should watch for, but I have found that the shape of feathers is much more reliable.

I also heard that too! 3-row-crow was something I heard early on in trying to sex this little guy, but also heard that it wasn’t a reliable way to know for sure. It’s good to know for the future. Those hackle feathers just popped up in the last week and I knew what he was, but wanted to confirm because his comb is so small and still a pale pink. I was certain it would have gotten red and huge by now, week 10! But I guess he’s just a shy boy
