Here is our 17 week old, cross beak EE roo, Col. Brandon (named for Alan Rickman's portrayal of the character from the film adaptation of Sense & Sensibility).
Brandon is the coolest, smartest, kindest rooster. He's friendly with other chickens, great with people and pets, he's always the first to spot skyward predators and he's simply the apple of my eye. We never even knew about cross beaks until at two weeks old, we could see his beaks were slightly off. Thanks to him, I'm a huge advocate of people giving their cross beaks a chance.
Out of our 3 roos, he was the first to crow, weeks ahead of the others. While he'll never be bred...he's quite the stud.
As far as beauty, there are so many gorgeous EE's in this contest. But his quirky "smile" and his goofy expression make me smile everyday. I feel blessed that he's our boy.
