Hi all,
I am a complete newbie in re: chicken genetics...but I have taken a liking to EE's and Ameraucanas and am in the process of filling my flock with those.
I have a EE pullet chick that has completely different coloration from the others I got in her batch. (I bought them from a breeder who said she had Ameraucanas and, uh, didn't--or at least had EEs mixed in. I know a little better now....)
What can you tell me about her genetics? What kind of dilution is going on here? Or is there a blue gene involved?
(White one with cheek muffs behind her in the first pic, and the cockerel next to her in the second pic, are also from the same seller. Got two full white and two full black birds out of that batch which makes me suspect SOMEBODY might be a true Ameraucana in that flock but not sure...)
She's very pretty and very friendly, and I figure I can use her as a good learning opportunity
