EE egg color from hatchery

EEs can lay any color and it cannot be predicted till you see the first egg. They can lay brown, too, because they're mixed breeds. That's one reason many want the true Ameraucanas because they do not want brown/tan eggs from them.

Thanks, apparently I have just been given all the hens that lay green or blue, and everyone else gets the other colors, I guess I'll just see if I can find someone who has hens that are laying pink. Is it possible to breed for pink eggs, using a roo from a pink egg and of course a hen that lays pink? Or would it take generations?

No. The so-called pink egg is really just a shade of brown over the blue. I have an EE that lays a purplish pinkish egg sometimes. However, sometimes I can't tell it apart from my brown layers.

God Bless,
