EE egg quality question?

My neighbor keeps RIRs, Gold and Red Sex links, and a few EEs. He has a beautiful EE rooster that is very sweet. His old rooster was a RIR but he was very aggressive.

I bought 12 BR from the feed store but I think most of them are roos. So I am busy coop building and researching breeds that are cold hardy. Should be an adventure.

I have room for a flock of about 15 hens. I would like multiple breeds. I am thinking... BR (I think I have a few hens), EE, Buff Orpingtons, RIR, and maybe some wyandotes. Any other neat cold hardy breeds out there?

My birds free range & I have no other breads laying yet but I see a difference in what my EE's lay & others. They taste a little richer & the whites are a little tougher. The shell is very strong & creaks perfectly. What I getting at is that I not sure if it is the EE or what they eat. Ether way I like eating them.

Have 5 EEs. 9 Pro. Reds, 5 RIWs, 5 Barred Rocks, 3 Marans, 4 White Rocks, 10 Wht. Legs., 4 Cal. Greys and some misc.. The EEs I have, tend to have calcium depos. on shell and average about 70% lay/day, which isn't quite as good as my other birds. All of my birds are '08 hatched, across a 5 month spread. I'm probably getting 85% lay/day from the other birds. BUT, 1 or 2 green eggs in a doz. gives an egg customer something to talk about. A funny: One of my wife's new, customer's son threw her eggs in the trash the other day because they had gone bad, they were green!!!!!!!! I think I'll keep some, for the mix. It's a marketing plan. Dark brown, white, pink, medium brown and green.

I have 13 hens right now. 12 EEs and 1 RIW. All are laying. I get 1 egg each day from my RIW, and normally between 10-12 eggs a day from my EEs. We have been delighted with all of the colors. The shells are hard to crack, which makes them better for transport. The flavor is outstanding and I don't notice any difference between our RIW eggs and our EE eggs. But I DO notice a difference between our eggs and store bought eggs. I am guessing that the flavor of our eggs has a lot to do with what we feed them. If it's recommended not to feed our chickens fish or garlic because it can taint the flavor of their eggs, why wouldn't their normal feed and treats also alter the flavor of the egg (obviously in a positive way)?

I was so inpressed with the two ee hens I had. I bought twelve more pure Amerucana chicks from a breeder near me. I love those blue eggs.
