EE gender? Mixed signals

I only have a limited time to sex this chick. It's an EE, about 5-6 weeks old. It's tricky because it's giving me mixed signals. Anyone?

The comb is red but it's feathering is pullet

I have an EE hen that always had a much more pronounced and red comb than her (pure) Ameraucana flock mates. She's very similar in color to your pullet also.
If you don't see saddle feathers or pointy hackles it's a good bet you have a hen. I don't think the combs are as determinative. In fact I have a couple Cali Whites with such large combs they look like bantam Roos!

If you really HAVE to know the gender you can get a feather DNA test for about $30.00

Well that seems like good news! She does have some hackle feathers, but she NEVER raises them. Plus, I've noticed that some EE hens just have very long neck feathers. As far as saddle feathers, I'm not sure. It's only puffy down there!

Looks like a pullet to me! She has a pretty flat color, not a lot of diversity, and her comb isn't too large or red. I could be wrong though! I'm just going off of my experience with my own EEs from last year

Pullet. You wouldn't find a male chicken with that color pattern.

She's absolutely a pullet. As stated above, males just aren't this color. She's way too young for sex feathers (if she were male). This color EE often fools folks cause the coloring on the feather makes it look pointed, when the actual feather itself is nice and rounded.

I will say, though, she looks to have a straight comb best I can tell in the pics, which does decrease her chances of laying a blue or green egg. She may give you cream, pinkish or a shade or brown instead.

Well that is wonderful! For a while people were saying cockerel, but I was still keeping my fingers crossed for pullet. I'm so glad I don't have to give her up. She's super friendly, and I didn't want to have to seperate her from her favorite flock mates!

If this is the same chick from the two previous post, than she is still a pullet!
