EE has a little blood on eggs, is this normal?

Hi All,

Looking for more good advice from the BYC chicken pros.

My young EE Buttercup just started laying her beautiful blue green eggs and her first 2 have had what looks like a little blood smeared on the shell. Her vent looks fine and she seems happy and healthy. Any thoughts?

That's normal for pullets and even older hens after there molt sometimes show some blood.

The blood is usually on the eggs whrn they first start laying. You are good.
