EE laid first egg on Friday and nothing since!

I have a small mixed flock (all 19 weeks old) with two EE and one of them laid a small beautiful egg on Friday and then nothing since! Is this normal?! She is my first one to lay an egg so I'm excited and nervous all in one!

EEs as a mixed breed can certainly have a lot of variability in egg production. It does not seem unusual to have one that may only lay 2-3 eggs a week. Some folks have 2 EEs and only get an egg every other day, which would be 2 per week per hen (or almost 4 days between eggs).However, I would caution against judging how many eggs this one will lay in a week until she’s been laying for a while.

If its her first one, give her time. eventually she will get into her routine. I have 2 EEs and get about 1 or 2 a day. it depends on the bird, i guess.

My black sex link laid her first egg on Friday as well, then had nothing until Sunday morning I found two soft shelled eggs stuck together, one broken, under the roosting bars. Then nothing yesterday. She laid her second normal egg today.

My EE (she passed away) used to lay 6-7 eggs per week. I miss her. She was my best layer.

I'm pretty jealous!

I was pretty relieved to get the normal egg today. I was afraid she was having issues because of the two eggs at once and being soft. I am hoping for a regular laying routine as well. I have four (2 black sex links and 2 buff orps) and so far only one laying.

I have 2 EE, 2 BR, 2 silkies, and 1 black australorp, I know 19 weeks is pretty early but that first one had me so excited!
