EE laying brown eggs

I'm so disappointed. I discovered my Easter Egger on the best this morning (24 weeks old). I was so excited for our first blue/green eggs, only to find she's been the Sweetpea laying the beautiful brownies. Oh, well. Our other EE was taken by a raccoon in the night about a month ago. Still miss her.

Right there with you. I raised a batch of pullets to POL to sell. When I got down to 3 I selected the one I wanted to keep. She was the more unusually colored one with a big grey beard and muff. The other two were rather drab brown and clean faced. Mine lays a brown egg and the other two? One blue and one green. Karma.

I'm sorry about your loss.

EE's are mixes and can lay any color egg from blue, green to brown or white. I'm sorry you are disappointed. If you want guaranteed blue eggs, look for pure Ameraucana eggs from a breeder or a Cream Legbar.
