EE + Leghorn = ?

Light brown is also a possibility, depending on the male's genetics...

From my experience, the hens will be mostly white with reddish in breast and wings/ tail feathers, cocks will be mostly red with with reverse white from hens, 50/50 egg color %, my avatar is a CCL/WL pullet, she has salmon breast, the roos came out distinctly barred cream, dark grey with crest, the pullet lays light blue, i crossed her back to father and those have the same features but lay a brighter blue and brighter greens

I once had a EE/white leghorn rooster, I first didn't know much about EE and just saw this white beautiful rooster and picked him for my flock
then when he got older he stared attacking me and I asked another EE breeder if I could get a new rooster from her because I needed a new blood in my flock as well (because I found out the EE/leghorn where my hens brother (had same EE mother))

so I asked the other breeder to get new rooster from her because mine was attacking me and she for some reason asked me for a picture of him so I send her this picture and she was like yeah that's not a purbreed EE rooster, this is probably a EE/white leghorn, it's really offten happen that that woman that sold me the EE/white leghorn rooster mix breeds and sell them as purbreed, so I contacted the woman and asked her if she sold me a mixed rooster, and told her to be honest and I would be angry at all, she admitted that she sold me a EE/white leghorn rooster.
now when I look at pictures of EE rooster I can see that he looks totally different from those other roosters so now next I go pick a rooster I will know how he's supposed to look like

I put the EE/white leghorn rooster down few weeks ago because he just got worse and worse attacking me, I would be scared to even come get the eggs so I decided it was time to but him down.

the other breeder is going to give me a purbreed easter egger rooster and some hens this Sumer and I'm really exited for that

Leghorns are flighty birds, in my experience, most EEs are also aggressive, so you get a flighty / aggressive result, aggressive X flighty makes for a bad mix in any breeds
Most EEs are aggressive to some extent, what you need is a pure Ameraucana, they can usually be trained to be docile, but when you mix 2 genetically different breeds to create the EE/Americana you really don't know what temperment the birds will have. Ameraucanas can be a mix of colors and features but must have white soles on their feet. No white soles then it is an EE no matter what other features the bird has. Good luck with your new flock birds

I have never known EE to be aggressive. It depends on the individual bird, and the parent stock the EE were bred from. Agreed, IME, leghorns are flighty.

Yes, i have both breeds and many more and have crossed them in various pairings, i find in is much better to cross 2 docile breeds where possible to achieve docile offspring, such as orpington x or RIR x and wyandottes are very docile

Now a EE,Leghorn cross, never done it though I had both. I know nothing of egg genetics but was told when you cross a green egg laying bird to a white there is a good chance for blue.?
I did cross a olive egg laying EE with a welsummer hoping for even darker olive, they laid brown

Olive ee, (ie) olive egger could be a cross of several different combinations, very common is Black Copper Marans over blue layer of any type, Such as BCM X CCL should give you approx. 50/50 roos/pullets and 50% brown layers and 50% olive egg layers, once you make the cross everything becomes a toss up on egg color, the proof is in the pudding so to speak, you have to breed and cull for egg color, if you don't succeed, change the sex of the breeds crossed, such as, Ameraucana roo over brown layer =olive egger, BCM over Ameraucana may produce Olive and brown eggers as my experience dictates, again, the proof comes in the offsprings eggs 6/7 months later

EE means not pure breed so every EE is offspring to blue or green egg laying chickens mix with anything
Example: Americauna x leghorn
Is EE
Americauna x orpington is EE
EE X anything still equals EE
Not all EE's carry the blue/green gene
White egg gene + blue egg gene equals light blue IF the rooster carries the gene in this specific case.
