How old? I wouldn't call it yet. It's deffiantely looking like a cockerel, but chickens never fail to surprise me. I'd wait just a little longer to be sure.

If you ever see this deep red pop up in the wing area, you've got a cockerel. He'd grow out to be gorgeous though I bet.

Thanks, everyone! I'm too close to town for a rooster, so will be making a drive to trade the guy in for a pullet. I did read through that original thread about sexing EE s, (after purchase) but was holding out hope that it would turn out to be consistent buff feathering throughout.

I suppose if we could do a bigger operation, they'd make a nice breeding pair. Maybe some day!
