May very well be 'project' birds that she has developed, and perhaps they even breed true. Would be interesting to see a picture of one of her roosters.

Quoting the standard: black, blue, blue wheaten, brown red, buff, silver, wheaten and white are the excepted colors. Self blue is almost accepted. She is none of those colorsWhat color would you call this pretty little hen? I think there is more controversy over EE's and Americauna's than any other Breed. Do we have a show person or a judge that has some nice pictures of the accepted colors and their "blue Legs"?
. Here is my EE@SemperFiChicken I was talking about the hen, but they're both pretty. I've just never seen that coloring on an EE hen before.
Any shade of blue will do. No greens or any other color, and I would prefer if they weren't light. I have a low quality hen, but her legs are good colored. Sorry about multiple pics. Still learning how to do that. What color would you call this pretty little hen? I think there is more controversy over EE's and Americauna's than any other Breed. http://ameraucanaalliance.org/photos.htmlThe lady that she was bought from has told me she was a chestnut Ameraucana, obviously she isn’t that breed. I’ll buy more from her next spring if she continues with them. She said she’s bred them for 30+ years.
All of mine lay straight blue no color variation. Although my self/blue hens eggs are lighter than the black hens eggsI found it out from Ameraucana breeders. Your supposed to breed away from that, but it happens. It is part of the Ameraucana chart, too. As long as they are blue or green, and the parents are both pure Ameraucanas, the chicks that hatch from the eggs are real Ameraucanas, be they duds or not. Any shades of brown are not considered Ameraucana eggs though. Really light blue, like a white is not good, but one of mine lays it, I think.
I really like buff and white birds I've been thinking about getting some pure white latelyI need me some 'chestnut ameraucanas' right NOW!![]()
