If you mix colors with no goal or pattern in mind even in pure ameraucanas, they are still easter eggers.

They have to breed true and a mixed bird cannot do that.

What about the lavs that Sara is working on? EE's?​

I would agree. The fact that they can breed true is the major consideration. The goal is more subjective, of course.

That's correct.

Top Ameraucana breeders including John Blehm (President of ABC)
are working now on Lavender Ameraucana, although lavender is not recognized color by ABC yet.

So not all unrecognized Ameraucana colors are EE's.

Ameraucanas are a pure breed and should breed true.

EE's are mutts.

Your EE gals look a lot like a few of line. I love that BO roo...wish I had one for my 2 gals! Maybe I'll get lucky at the Gardner poultry auction next Saturday.

Thank you! Who knows, I may end up with an extra EExBO roo that will need to be rehomed. From what I hear at least half of my hatch should be roos.
I thought about going to the Gardner auction, but already have plans that day. Just as well. I might come home with cayugas or some thing.

Am I right in understanding that an Ameraucana has to be a specific "color" to be an Ameraucana and if it's any other color then "someone" has decided, it is and EE? Even if it looks like an Ameraucana? Kinda like a human has to have blk, brwn, or Blond hair, but if they have Red they're not a human?

And what if it looks like an Ameraucana, how will you know it's Mum and Dad weren't both Ameraucana, but that the Mum was but the Dad wasn't? I mean how you gonna know great granddad wasn't an Ameraucana?
