EE or americauana?

Does this 5 1/2 week old look like an EE or americauana? I ordered her as an americauna, and i think it may be an EE. any thoughts?

Americana and Easter egger are the same thing. Purebred Ameraucanas will always be designated by specific colors, like blue Ameraucana or lavender Ameraucana.

I thought an EE is a mix and an americauana is the pure breed? Am i wrong? I dont really know.

Yes, that's right. As a pure breed, Ameruancanas come only in specific color varieties. None of which matches your chick. There are other differences, like skin color, but if you see Ameraucana spelled as Americana, with an i, that is an Easter egger. The hatcheries seem to enjoy confusing people, or maybe tricking people into thinking they are buying pure breeds. Easter eggers are just as good, unless you plan to show.

lol we were all confused by this until we started noticing the spelling. It leads to endless trouble on the message boards because many have the same question as you. It's a healthy looking chick and I hope it gives you lots of eggs of the color you want.

Yeah, she was like 5-7 dollars i think
