ok so i have a EE white with red patches to bred my black sex links. i know that a black sex link is a BR over a RIR. my question is there any way that any of the offspring that may be barred could ever be a pullett? still learning about the different dominant coloring patterns and which ones are sex linked traits.

If you haven't read this, I suggest you read the very first post on this thread. It has a really good description of how to make sex links.

If you are talking about your black sex links, no, any of them that are barred will be male. Your Black Sex link pullet will not have the barred gene. That's what makes them a sex link. By the way, it does not have to be a RIR rooster over a Barred Rock hen. There are several combinations that will make a black sex link.

The only way the offspring of that match between your EE rooster and a Black Sex Link pullet can be barred is if the rooster has the barred gene. White will mask barring, but I don't know what the red looks like on him. That red should show barring, but there can be a difference in what should show and what does actually show.
