My green laying EE just died this morning.

She was my only green laying hen. I have two of her eggs sitting on my counter and I was just thinking about how sad it was that these were her last two eggs. Then, I just had a thought.........what if I were to incubate them??????

BUT, I don't have an incubator and have never incubated anything before. Is there a cheap incubator I could purchase for hatching just two eggs? Would it work? Do I need to refrigerate the eggs?
And anyway WHAT WOULD I GET?

You could also ask around to see if someone in your area has space in their incubator. Sometimes you can borrow or rent incubators too. I rented one for my first hatch for just a few dollars. Make sure to throughly clean a used or borrowed incubator. Or if you have someone else hatch them ask a lot of questions about possible diseases before letting someone else incubate the eggs. Cost should be about a $1 or so per egg for hatching.

sorry about your hen. EE's are such nice birds.
