I have had this hen for a few years and I really love her looks and personality, I just can't figure out what she is. I got her 2 years ago as a left over Easter chick from Privett Hatchery, she was shipped as a hatchery choice all pullet special to my feed store and was the only one that looks like this (granted there weren't many left over chicks when I got her). She was all yellow as a chick with a fluffy face. Now she has huge muffs and a beard, pea comb, white/pale legs, and she lays a light brown egg. My best guess is an EE cross speckled Sussex. It seems strange that I would get a cross bred chick from a hatchery though.
Her face is a bit wet here because it just rained but she has the largest muffs and beard I have seen. Sometimes I wonder how she can see around them.
