Really? That's interesting to know. But, something I did notice... is that, about a month or two ago, I saw one tail feather that had a white tip. Not just a speck, but about an inch of the feather was white. Does that change things?

My gray chick had light feather tips and white end mottling for a long while but they were going away as he aged.

These feathers were appearing as she is aging now.

I should have been more specific, he started with the pale chipmunky thing, turned gray, then as he got older and into juvenille feather and beyond the ends started changing. I sold him before he came in with the first mature feathering. I sold him at around four months.

Ok that makes a little more sense. I was referring to my Silver chick's mother, incase you didn't know. I was just wondering if she carried white in her since her tail feathers were a little white, but I'm thinking she's just getting some grey hairs
