eegs that dont hatch

when a hen is sitting on her eggs an they start to hatch,my question is the ones that don't hatch,will she kick out,after a few days or do I need to take them out

In my experience hens generally leave the nest with their chicks somewhere around 36 hours after the chicks have hatched. At that time you can take and toss the remaining eggs if you are sure that they are not viable.

ok i will candle what is left,an make sure if they are still good with life well i might put them in a warmer.or maybe just toss them,

Long story short, one of my hens left her nest after hatching 8 of 11 eggs. I captured her poults and moved them to a brooder. Later she returned to her nest and two days later emerged with two more poults making a total hatch of 10 out of 11 eggs. The 11th egg had no signs of any development.

Over the years I have hens leave a fair number of viable eggs when they felt it was time to leave the nest with their poults.

This year the first broody hen is going to have a staggered hatch since the other hens kept laying in her nest after she went broody.
