Ameraucanas and Easter Eggers are absolutely not the same thing. If they were, there would not be two seperate names for them. If they were, you could enter an Easter Egger into a show as an Ameraucana. You can't.
Are they genetically close? Absolutely. But then so are all breeds of chickens. The genetic difference between a Cochin and a Brahma is almost negligible, but it's a disservice to all of the people who have dedicated their lives to their respective breeds to dismiss their work as 'the same thing.'
