EE's(?) Gender @ 3 weeks

I'm not really sure what breed these chicks are either, but I posted pics of them at a few days old and was told they might be EE's. I got them out of the straight run bin at TSC. Here is a picture of them when I got them:

Any idea on roo or pullet?

They both look like roos, and not sure what they are but don't think they are EE. They don't have a pea comb, green legs, muffs, or beards.

Yikes! I'd say Roo's, and I agree with the other post, they don't look like ee's either.

I agree... I didn't think they were EE's, but I only got one reply on my previous post. Any ideas on what they are? I don't guess it matters because I probably won't keep them in the long run.

Not EE's and both cockerels.

I don't know what breed they are though.

I agree. I have read others comments that "Straight Run" at Tractor Supply Company and other stores like that are often mostly roosters- that it can be a bunch of the 'questionable' ones or the 'extras' they send along when they ship the girls. Don't know if it's true but I am wary of anything advertised as unsorted or straight run for this reason.

Thanks y'all. UrbanFarmerGirl, I totally agree with you. I put four other production reds back when I found out they were straight run, but these were just too cute to pass up (I'm one of those who started with 9 chickens last year and is expanding my coop this year!

) I knew if I took home 6 out of that bin that it'd be my luck to get 6 ROOS! So I waited until the next week and got the production reds out of the pullet bin -- and then ordered some more!

Hmmm It looks like they both have white spots on top of their heads and that can be an indication of sex in some breeds, notice the feathers are coming in barred. It is not uncommon for EEs to develop their leg color, muffs, and beards when a little bit older. However, EEs don't usually come in barred patterns. I'm also going with two roos.
