EEs -- how old was yours when she started laying?

I've got you all beat. One of my EEs waited until she was 40 weeks old to lay. I had given up on her and just assumed she was laying brown eggs. I was over the moon the day I got 2 green eggs instead of the one I was used to getting. I started doing the math and had have a talk with her about her poor job performance. She was unimpressed.

My six EEs are 22 1/2 weeks old but no eggs yet. Two of them are VERY red in the face and their combs look like they are getting bigger daily and today I saw them sitting in the nest boxes when I went out with treats. Three of the others are only a little red and one is still just pinkish...not red at all. I am hoping the two that are looking ready to lay will start soon.

My hubby swears he is only giving them until 30 weeks and then they are chicken soup. I won't let him do it though...he doesn't get that some chickens just don't start laying when they are "supposed" to.
