The mother is a pure breed Ameracauna and the father is a pure breed Wheaten Maran. S/he has no muffs (unlike two of her hatch mates) and her legs are not green. I'm hoping this one is a girl, she is so pretty. They are a month old.

Same parents, but this one has little muffs starting. I think this is a little roo

both look like pullets but a better shot on the comb of number two would help. Muffs have nuttin to do with the sex of the chicks, its just a roll of the dice to who got and who didn't

Hrm... to be honest, I'm seeing one definite roo (second one), and one possible roo. The coloring is too patchy on both of them to be trusted as female, and the first bird has giant trunk legs. Time will tell.

The first one has feathered legs, but it rained last night so after walking in the wet grass the feathers are all stuck to her leg. The second one looks like the comb is getting a bit pink and has that lil roo stance. I really hope the first one turns out to be a pullet.
