EE's or Ameraucanas...?

Thanks so much to all of you for sharing your experience and wisdom. I really look forward to their first eggs, even more so now.

Very pretty! The golden one looks very much like one of ours. We have four EEs that were classified as Ameracaunas by the feed store where we bought them. We've learned more since we've become chicken owners and now know that they are really EEs. The three pullets are similar in color and patterns, but the roo turned out to be just stunning! He's a mixture of black, white, copper, brown, and gold - just gorgeous.

My turn...I've been wondering myself...I got Mildred and Gracie (crazy Gracie) from different farms. Mildred was sold to me as a Wheaton Ameraucana and Crazy Gracie was sold to me as an Ameraucana - no specific color.

Mildred is now 31 weeks - no eggs yet Crazy Gracie is only 24 weeks, also no eggs...so funny crazy gracie got her name because even though she is low chicken in the coop she runs so iincredibly fast that's she's never lost any significant feathers by being pecked, she flys and is just generally nuts! We love her comic personality, however we concerned becuase she was so tiny, seems to be fattening up a bit more. She and Mildred over the last 2 weeks have started "hangin" together. They are always on different perches in the yard side by side.

Can someone tell me what breed they are for sure.

My girls are lowest in the coop too. Amelia is so named because she loves to fly...even clipping her wings did nothing. They are both fast, funny, curious and love to hang out with each other.

Only clip one wing next time so it throws them off balance when they try to fly... I learned this little trick when I had a conure. For now you'll have to wait til they grow back.

Thats exactly what we did...just one wing on each of the EE's but they still get around! Mostly when looking for somewhere higher to roost. We finally just covered our run so we don't worry anymore.
When we start letting them back in the garden to free range I'll just have to keep my eye on 'em.
