Went to feed my girls some treats and saw one of my 10 week old BO Pullets not joining in the treat fest. I noticed she was a bit puffed up and kept walking in the same area. Took a closer look and there was a big 3 inch piece of solid looking poop hanging out her backside! Poor thing! I watched her for a few minutes and realized that the was really straining, and that I would have to help her...
I picked her up and grasped the poop
and VERY Gently And VERY slowly pulled it out...
It just kept coming
My silly girl had eaten a 10 inch long piece of rubber! I guess if I think about it, it kinda looked like a worm or snake... but still!!! I'm glad I noticed, because I don't think she would have been able to get it out on her own! She seems fine now, after a few minutes of walking around, she joined the treat fest and has seemed back to normal ever since! YUK! the things we do for these animals! Anything I should watch for in particular with her? She hasn't been named yet either, and funny name idea's?
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
