In my cases of predation, it's usually the non-wild colored ones that get took out. Even as flighty as white leghorns are, they are pretty stupid when it comes to paying attention to keep from being eaten.
I think a better study would be the correlation between color and stupidity, awareness, and bliss ninny traits.

This might be a good one :lol: Honestly I think that white animals are much more domesticated, even if they are the same breed. It's as if they lose some of their natural instinct along with their natural color...
 
I have wondered this as well. With winter coming I wonder if my Rouen, who is nearly invisible to me from 100 ft away, would become the obvious target once the snow is on the ground since she is the darkest of my flock. I hope I will never know!

I’ve been nervous about that too. Daphne is very blendy right now, if anyone were to become dinner I would think it would be Goon 1 (my pure white Muscovy who has a difficult personality and very little intelligence). But when the snow starts accumulating, this will be reversed. Good luck to your Rouen and the rest of your flock this winter!
