This is my first post with questions. I am living in Costa Rica and things are different here.
I was going to wait for the book, but Amazon says, "Raising Chickens For Dummies" New estimated arrival date:September 16 2009[/i].
So I have some egg questions. I will post them topically
Setting Hens
1. Do setting chickens abandon eggs for a reason? Can they tell if the eggs are not fertile?
2. What happens to non-fertile eggs in a clutch?
3. How long can setting chicks walk away from their eggs at a temperature that ranges from 70 degrees at night 80-to 85 degrees F during the day, depending on rain.
