Egg binding or brooding?

I have a hen that is still laying eggs once a day but she won’t leave the nest. She’ll sit on any egg even a wooden egg after I take her egg. I’ll take her out of the nesting box and I’ll put her in the pen. Within 10 minutes she’s back in the nesting box purring as if laying an egg. Any suggestions? I don’t know what to do. Is she egg binding or is she brooding? She’s been like this for a week.

Has she ever hatched any chicks?

Sometimes hens do this when they are going broody, but this will end up harming them. They might starve themselves to death or other things. You have to break her from that for her own good.
Thank you. I have started by making sure she’s not sitting in anybody’s eggs and taking her out of the nesting boxes. Hopefully she’ll get the picture. When I take her to the pen she’ll eat a little but she hasn’t had any water that I’ve seen.

That's good. Not that she isn't drinking any water, but that she's eating a bit and that you made sure she's not sitting on anyone's eggs. If she doesn't start to drink soon, you might have to force her to drink so that, in case she forgot, (which I doubt) she can remember what and where water is.
