How do you blow your eggs without cracking them???

Every one I do I crack. Can someone please Help!!!

got another question. do you dip them in something before or after. and do you clean them out and with what and how.

it could be that your egg is real fresh and the yolk/whites are thick. try blowing week old eggs and scramble the yolk inside with a scewer or something.

I don't paint eggs yet but heres what I do for blowing out the eggs

LF/bantam eggs I take a small drill bit and with my hand my a small hole in each end. I just simply blow on an end until everything is out. Then I take a small needle/syringe and [ut some water into the egg and shake it then blow the water/goo out. Repeat several times and it should be good.

On small egs like songbirds/button quail/ coturnix quail eggs I make a small hole in each end with a safety pin (don't ask why has always worked for me LOL) and then take a syring/needle and suck out the contents of the egg. Same with the other eggs I put a little bit of water shake and then suck out the contents with the needle/syringe.


Be careful when putting water in the egg if to much pressure is applied it will blow up!

Fresh eggs are a ton harder to blow. I had such a migraine from trying so believe me. Anywho what I do is I take a knife and just tap tap tap each end. If I am having brittle or weak egg shells I don't even bother trying. They will crack every time. Directly after blowing I do run water through mine. Usually I just close one hole with my finger, use the other hole to add some water, shake well and blow again to make sure all the water comes out. I have painted mine in the past. This time I am doing my blue eggs so.....if they get paint it will just be a small design. I really wanna show off those natural colors. My mother has several she bought in Salzburg and they just have designs painted on the natural shell and then a clear coat over that. We have bought others that covered in paint. I will assume they have a clear coat too but I have no way of verifying that. I use a craft paint that is good for outdoors so I don't have to use a clear coat. I changes the shade of the egg.

For doing my ornamental eggs I do the fallowing

I scrub all eggs with a non-stick safe sponge, blow egg, rinse inside of egg, blow egg again, microwave egg, scrub again, dry with dish rag, decorate ~ paint, rubons whatever, end cap and seal. So far everything is sticking well, I use superglue gel, or the one that has a paint brush.

For blowing

I use a needle to make a hole in one end, then flip the shell out towards me, then flip egg put needle in egg blow air SLOWLY, you can feel if the egg is going to explode so take off some of the excess pressure. My eggs are done same day as collected, it might be you have weak egg shells or are just useing an excess amount of pressure.

Does anyone know what a fair price is for selling blown eggs. I have been makeing ornaments but cant give them away so now im thinking of selling the blown eggs instead.
