I am posting this because this hen is alive due to the help given by so many, to so many!
I went out to the coop and this hen was splayed out on her back. I gently palpated, no response. I set her carefully on her feet. She went under the nesting boxes & laid an egg. She still looked horrible. I knew she wasn’t egg bound by now, but still decided to do a soak.
First picture is her in her soak. Happy, or on her way out. I felt she was on her way out.
That is when I shoved two 600mg tablets of calcium down her throat. A drop of nutridrench on her beak, and we all sat there.
The second picture is three hours later. Back outside, with a couple friends penned away from the others.
THANK YOU BYC! Without so many people being willing to take their time to help others, I wouldn’t have read the threads that allowed me to handle this situation without panic and with confidence.
