EGG BOUND CHICKEN

Yes......The egg bound article.....Basically only talks about fixing it but not preventing it in the first place.....I am not mad.....Why? I apologise for any confusion......Just trying to help.......

Cheers!
What egg bound article? The link I posted doesn't address egg binding, or does it? Sorry, I get confused easily.

Quote: How much food is in her crop (size wise)? In a perfect world you would want to give her subcutaneous fluids, but those are not easy to get, and can be tricky to give. Placing her in a steamy room is ideal because sitting under a heat lamp can dehydrate them, and according to my vet, dehydration is the leading cause of egg binding.

She is passing poop, so that's a very good sign.

Oh my gosh! I'm really sorry for my rude remark...
Hang in there...

I'll try that next. She's in a quiet dark room resting right now under heat lamp on heat pad. We've been doing stuff to her all morning and I'm giving her 20-30 minutes of time in between treatment. She's not protesting to any of it but I don't want to stress her.

I tried the steam and nothing...
I've given her castor oil. Preparation H. Been syringe feeding water. Coconut water. Electrolytes.
Nothing.
She seemed more perky today. But her tail is still droopy. Her crop is still full of food from two days ago. She's still pooping green and white liquid.
There's still an egg stuck in her.
I'm at a loss. I give up. I can keep her hydrated but I don't know what else I can do.

You could try tubing fluids to her.

Since your pullet just laid her first egg, could it be that your entire problem might be an impacted crop? Once, one of my pullets had some watery greenish poop, that looked just like that. I think I lucked out because it went away pretty soon & I didn't have to deal with it. I now think she had an impacted crop & that it cleared on its own. If something, like a long strand of grass, is blocking the crop to the point that only some watery poop can make it through, I would think this could cause the problem. I understand that it takes 24 to 27 hours for a chicken to produce another egg, so are you sure there actually is another egg at this point or could it be swelling from the ordeal with the egg she laid?

There are a lot of videos online, showing how to clear an impacted crop. Here is a link to one:
