Egg bound chicken?

How do I tell if my chicken is egg bound and, if she is, how do I up her?

An eggbound chicken may have a lowered tail, be walking with a wide stance or penquin walk. She may have a lowered tail, and prefer not to walk. You can insert a clean finger inside her vent 1-2 inches to feel for an egg or other obstruction. If you suspect egg binding, and she has been laying, you can give a human calcium with vitamin d tablet or Tums orally. Then keep her in a humid warm room, such as a bathroom. Here is a link to read:
