Chirping
Hello, I’m hoping someone can help. I noticed my welsh harlequin acting different Friday and palpated what feels like two separate masses, in her lower abdomen, one just under her keel, the other close to her vent. I could not visualize anything at the vent. I have been giving her warm baths with epsom salt trying to massage them, and giving her water with mineral oil. She has been pooping, but not a lot. I stopped feeding her, only giving her water. Some of the poop is hard chunks, others are just mostly liquid. I noticed when she drinks she shakes her head, as if she’s not able to get it all down. Leading me to believe it’s due to some blockage. She has not made any progress nor has she regressed. I don’t want to give up on her, but I don’t want her to be in pain either. The only vet I found that cares for ducks has moved out of state, so I don’t even have a place to take her. The poop she just did this morning, looked like a little thick piece of off white mucus. I have also been giving her some saline enemas, which she seemed to perk up after getting. We’ve been keeping her in the basement with a heating pad and a towel draped over her cage.
