Hello everyone. My chicken is acting pretty still and she is standing weirdly. I can’t tell if she’s just cold because she is molting and doesn’t have that many feathers. Please help I don’t know what to do. @Wyorp Rock @Eggcessive

I didn’t feel anything hard by her vent. She’s eating and jumping and I’ve seen her shiver a little bit. she also has not laid an egg in Probably two weeks

Try bringing her to a warmer spot for the evening and overnight, and see if she acts more normally. Offer some chopped egg or ground meat or tuna. Is she drinking? She normally would not be laying eggs while molting, and for a couple of weeks afterward.

The thing is I have to go somewhere for about 1 hour so I can’t watch her. Do you think I should bring her inside? I am boiling eggs now.

I'd check to make sure her crop is emptying overnight.

It's good that she ate the egg.

I've noticed that some of mine act standoffish and a bit odd when they are molting, like they don't feel very well.

Does your run have a few areas that are protected from wind and your coop is fairly cozy (bedding, good ventilation but has protected from wind)?

Yes my run has 1/2 of it covered with a tarp and my coop is protected from the wind, has bedding, and good ventilation.
