We have a hen that we think may be egg bound and we just put her in a warm bath and out came a few maggots. I'm not sure if that's normal or not, she's very lethargic and one of her feet is curled up. We have her soaking in Epson salts right now. We saw her struggling to try to lay.

After soaking, we started to apply vegetable oil to hopefully smother the maggots. We were able to pull out part of the egg that has busted and the smell is horrible. You can see in the photo that she appears to have a wound under her vent.

Give her caltrate so she can get the rest of the egg out and then try to get as many maggots out as you can. Do you have antibiotics you can give her? Can you move her inside? She'll also needs sweetened water to get some energy in and see if you can force some lightly scrambled egg yolk down her beak too. It's super nutrient rich.
