Egg Bound Hen

I lent all my chicken books to someone, now I cannot figure out the posterior anatomy. Which orifice do I explore to remove a stuck egg? thank you for any help you can give me for this perplexing problem. joy

I'm sorry I don't remember that part of how to deal with egg binding or prolapse, but with my experience with our favorite RIR hen, Little Red, we gently pushed on her abdomen to ease the egg out a little more.

do not push egg out will break inside of chicken and she will die. If you suspect egg bound see Vet as soon as Possible. Good Luck i hope she will be ok

sometimes you can soak their bottoms in warm water like you are giving her a bath and it will help relax them enough so they can push the egg out.
